BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP
As a paid property owning member you:
- Have a vote on all proposals that come before you at member meetings.
- Have a vote in the election of officers that will represent us collectively in dealing with issues that may come before our association.
- Provide financial support so ELPOI can carry out the directions of the membership.
- Provide financial support to our local fire and ambulance team's.
- Provide affirmation for and recognition of a unified voice in dealing with Local and State agencies on issues that affect Eagle Lake.
- Have the satisfaction of knowing that you take an active role in preserving and maintaining the environmental and recreational quality of Eagle Lake.
- Have the opportunity to receive all ELPOI communications.
As a paid associate member you:
- Have the opportunity to receive all ELPOI communications.
- Have the satisfaction of knowing that you take a supportive role in the preservation of Eagle Lake.
Your ELPOI membership dues also cover:
- Membership in NYS Federation of Lakes Association (FOLA) to facilitate water testing through the State CSLAP program.
- The costs incurred for beaver relocation from the outflow dam area so that desired lake levels can be maintained.
- ELPOI in-house water testing for Fecal Coliform and dissolved minerals.
- The costs incurred for day-to-day operating expenses (i.e. postage, long distance phone calls, special travel, applicable conference registrations, grant application costs, and more).
Your membership support allows ELPOI to work on your behalf to:
- Maintain the lake level in cooperation with the NYS DEC Adopt-A-Natural Resource program.
- Request that any cleared away and accumulated beaver activity debris be removed free of charge by the State from the spillway location.
- Have a collective voice on DOT/Route 74 related issues that may impact Eagle Lake and its residents.
- Keep the shoulders of Route 74 clean of trash via dedicated volunteers who are participating in ELPOIs' Adopt-A-Highway program.
- Please know that all membership dues/donations go directly to support the collective interests of the ELPOI membership as a not-for-profit organization and that all officers, board members and committee personnel serve in a volunteer capacity.
- Maintain member communications through postal mail, email, and this web site.
- Support NYS DEC fish stocking.
- Support the towns of Ticonderoga and Crown Point with the joint milfoil removal project.
- Provide open dialogue with both towns and others in the state regarding topics of mutual concern and interest.
