2012 Paper Truck in Lake Photos Page
This is a collection of pictures take between August 7th and August 10th 2012, of the paper truck that rolled completely over into Eagle Lake. This is the 4th such occurrence on this particular bend in Rt.74 on the south side of Fox Island. There were 2 other paper trucks that rolled over at this location in 1999 and a logging truck also rolled a couple hundred feet down the road in 2009.

A BIG THANK YOU to our local EMS and fire teams for saving the man trapped inside the truck as well as to Steve Stubbing for reporting the accident and assisting in the rescue.

Please see the Press Republican newspaper article for more information.

In late December 2012 an addition unreported accident took place at the same location of the summer '12 truck rollover, this resulted in damage to the guard rail as pictured. The NYS DOT by request of the Town of Ticonderoga has added additional "tippy truck" signage to the approach of this section of road in both directions.

Steven Phelps' Photos
Second Accident Photo
I didn't take any photos of the accident. Steve Phelps took this one, but it doesn't show anything. The woman who was hit came to my house to use the phone. She said the other car was speeding around the corner, couldn't stay in their lane and smashed into her. I saw today where the guardrail was hit. It's on the other side of the road from where the last accident was. The road was blocked for 2 hours, with only one lane open.
